CS:GO, Overwatch, free. What more needs to be said? Well, I'll keep going.
Eleven Agents, each with four unique abilities.
An array of guns that are disgustingly hard to hit someone with.
Three game modes: Unranked (for Casuals), Spike Rush (for those short on time), and a Ranked (Sweaty!) mode.
Valorant's cartoonish art style is a nice change up from the usual realism of first-person shooters that are common these days and is somewhat reminiscent of Borderland's washout colours.
However, while you're playing, you're not worried about the textures around you.
The gameplay is fast-paced, 5-on-5, single-life mayhem. Your team will either be on offense or defense, playing twelve rounds on either end with the first team to reach thirteen rounds winning. The objective is your typical plant and defuse, however a planted 'Spike' (the bomb) location is not revealed on the map - you will have to pay close attention to the ingame sounds to work it out.
Playing well will net you extra 'Creds', the in-game currency, allowing you to buy the top end weapons, some Agent abilities, and or shield depending on your preference.
Be wary though - if you spend big on a weapon and die that round, you'll lose it and will only have your starting pistol again!
Keeping in mind that Valorant is still in beta, while I've enjoyed playing, without greater diversity in gameplay being added I can't see it becoming a staple in my regular gaming.
This game is best enjoyed playing with others, as coordination is the key to victory.
Thanks for reading, and happy gaming!
